If you want it for a lab environment you can get a preconfigured VHD with an evaluation edition of 2008 R2 installed. It is valid for 180 days: SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Standard (x64) Also, you can get it if you or one of your colleagues have a MSDN subscription.
1.0 What's New in Service Pack 2
Added the dynamic management view (DMV) sys.dm_db_stats_properties. You can use this DMV to return statistics properties for a specified table or indexed view in the current database. For example, this DMV returns the number of rows that were sampled and the number of steps in the histogram.

2.2 Setup Might Fail if SQAGTRES.dll Is Locked by Another Process

Issue: A SQL Server setup operation might fail with this error: Upgrading of cluster resource C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL10_50.<Instance name>MSSQLBinnSQAGTRES.DLL on machine <Computer name> failed with Win32Exception. Please look at inner exception for details. The root cause is that C:Windowssystem32SQAGTRES.DLL is locked by another process and Setup was not able to update it.
Workaround: Rename C:Windowssystem32SQAGTRES.DLL to a temporary name such as C:Windowssystem32SQAGTRES_old.DLL, and then select the Retry option on the setup error message. That will allow Setup to continue. After a reboot, you can delete the temporary file C:Windowssystem32SQAGTRES_old.DLL.
