If it is a Laptop you can try decreasing the sensitivity of the touch pad, for a desktop with an optical mouse try keeping it on a rough surface or try reducing the sensitivity of the mouse.
You may try updating the touch pad drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check if the issue still persists. For that you will have to visit the manufacturer’s website and check for the latest updates available.
